NEW YORK — The most popular Colombian newspaper in the United States has become the most widely read newspaper in Latin America, according to a survey released Monday.
Colombia’s biggest daily newspaper, the El Diario, won the most circulation among all newspapers in the Americas and Latin America.
The newspaper’s circulation jumped 16 percent year over year, to 6.5 million copies, it said in a report published by the Pew Research Center.
The newspaper also won the title of most influential Latin American newspaper, beating the U.S. newsmagazine The Washington Post, which was fourth last year, the report said.
El Diario won the fourth consecutive year as the most popular publication in the region, following El Universal, El Universal Plus, El Periódico, and El Universal.
